Calibrate the pointing of the telescope

 1. Log on on OBERON using the GraphON 225 terminal
     * type in "COSMO" to install the right software
 2. * type "p t",
you should now get a list of standard stars, choose the one which
has an RA close to the LST (see "DOM AUTO" terminal to read the LST)
     * each star in the list has an FK5# number, take this number as NO.
     * type "p k NO." where NO. is the FK5# selected from the list
 3. On GraphON do "Shift F6", to feed the screen also to the
     monitor on the CASS platform
 4. Go to the DOME AUTO monitor. Push "D to enable dome positioning
 5. Go to the CASS platform and set the control on "LCL"
 6. Move the telescope to the flexed coordinates and
put the control on "LSR" back again
    * there are four stepsize to move the telescope
start with "slew", than in decreasing stepsize
      "search", "set", and "guide"
 7. Go to the laser room and center the star on the slit using the
hand paddle and the guider screen
note that on the panel below the "COMPARISON LAMP SUPPLY", you can
put the guide camera in "FIELD" or "SLIT" mode. First use "FIELD",
to center the star on the slit, and than "SLIT" to fine tune.
 8. Compare the coordinates from the hand paddle with those on the
OBERON monitor. There are very likely not the same.
    * type "p l" on the GraphON terminal (position last"
    * type "p z" the telescope uses the current coordinates
      to calibrate.
    * type "p l" and "p z" again. The coordiates of the handpaddle
and the GraphON terminal should be the same. If not repeat
      "p l" and "p z" till they do agree.
    * repeat 1 to 8 for about three stars. That would do.
