Q: If I have an emergency do I need to enter a request? |

Notify a Physical Plant employee immediately if you consider your request an emergency! On weekends, see our
on-call schedule
for who to contact.
It does not need to be in the system before we work on it, but after you've contacted someone
please enter the request as usual. We need all requests, emergency and non-emergency ones, in a single place to track progress of a request,
long term maintenance, and hours. |
Q: Do I have to fill this out every time I want PP's help; why can't I just ask a PP employee? |

This system was created in order to better serve our customers, the residents and staff at McDonald Observatory.
With this system we hope to improve communication with our customers, track work progress, and monitor related follow up work.
Please do not ask staff to submit the request for you as this system is intended to track not only the location but also the
requestor for long term follow up maintenance as needed. In order for you to track progress of the request, be notified
upon it's completion, and request any follow up work you will need to register a login and password, if you have not already done so, and submit the request. |
Q: What can I do if I submit a request but realize I need to add something to it? |

If a Physical Plant staff member has already contacted you and is starting work on the request please contact
that person directly. Use McD phone list for phone or email information. If you have just submitted it or are unsure if someone has started on it,
email the webmaster with the correction you would like to make. This is to insure that staff are
made aware of any changes to your original request. |
Q: What happens when I forget my password? |

Go to the bottom of the login page and click on "Reset it Here". You will be prompted to type in your full name exactly as you typed
it in when you first registered. If you typed it correctly, you will see a message that says your password has been changed and a temporary password
has been sent to the email address you used when registering (your login). The email is sent immediately, but when you receive it will depend on the network.
If you forget the exact name you used, email the webmaster. After verification that you are in the system, your password will be reset for you and you'll
receive it via email like noted above.
Once you receive the temporary password go to the login page again and log in with your email and the temporary password you received. |
Q: What if I need additional work done for the original request? |

Log in to the system and determine the status of your request by going to the "View My Requests" page. If it is not yet complete it is best
to contact either the staff working on it directly or Stuart Cross. If the status indicates that staff have completed a request, a link becomes available for that request,
where you can ask for follow up work to be done. |
